Gibril Sillah elated with a goal against Esperance
Gambian attacker Gibril Sillah is pleased with his goal against Esperance at the Stade Olympique de Rades in the CAF Champions League Group D game on Saturday but insists Teungueth will learn from the defeat and bounce back in grand style.
Gibril connected home Bassene cross from the left flank to give the Senegalese side the lead in the 33rd minute but the host equalized through a well-taken penalty by Taha on the strike of half time before former Dreams FC striker Abdul Basit Khalid soared high above his marker to nod home the winner for Esperance with seventeen minutes left on the clock.
The Gambian forward was elated for his strike in Teungueth’s first appearance in the Group stage of Africa’s biggest club competition and remain optimistic that they can build on it.
“I am happy about the goal but we could still have at least a point from today’s game. The tactics were good, we defended and attacked well. It was a tight game.”Gibril emphasized.
“We will learn from it in preparation for the next game. At this level, any mistake you make your opponent will punish you. I am very to score our first ever goal and pray for more victories.” He added.
Teungueth will host Zamalek on the 23rd of February in Dakar.
